May 20, 2019 - Yan Unimpressed by Sandhagen, Lineker

Per surging UFC BW contender Petr Yan, via MMA Fighting -

"[John Lineker's] head is bigger than his body; it's hard not to hit him. He's got a big head and he throws wide punches, so it's an easy matchup for me ...

"[Cory Sandhagen] has a good striking style, but I can see that he still fights like an amateur. He landed hundreds and hundreds of punches and never had Lineker in real trouble. He's like a point fighter and I see holes in his wrestling and grappling too ... I would like to f*ck him up in the future too."

May 16, 2019 - Edgar Open to Fighting Volkanovski After Holloway

Per Frankie Edgar, via MMAjunkie -

On receiving the next UFC FW title shot:

"I think all of it combined - my body of work, what I've done in the past, what I've done for the UFC, opportunities that I could've waited for, I didn't - I stepped in and fought. I think a combination of all that stuff led me to get my title shot [vs. Max Holloway at UFC 240 in July] ... I've been doing the right things in this sport since Day One and never shied away from a challenge or never shied away from an opponent, so I feel like this was definitely meant to be."

On the prospect of facing Alex Volkanovski for his first title defense, should he defeat Holloway:

"I want to fight more than once this year. My plan is to win in July and get one more in. If it works out with [the Volkanovski] fight [in Australia] or possibly the Garden - I know they're usually at the Garden in November - we'll see what happens.
